Turning health intelligence into stronger systems and better health outcomes

Health Systems & Digital Health

GI4C uses digital health, health information systems, surveillance, community-generated data and analytics to understand health needs, strengthen information flows and support better decisions across communities and health systems.

What we do

We design, develop, implement and strengthen digital health and health information systems, disease surveillance and early warning systems, community health intelligence, data integration and digital tools. We support health actors to deploy, manage and use these systems effectively, strengthen institutional and workforce capacity, and translate health data into actionable intelligence for better decisions, coordinated action and stronger health systems.

Why it matters

Healthy communities depend on health systems that can identify people's needs, deliver appropriate services, respond to emerging health threats, and continuously improve. Yet communities may face gaps in access to services, limited local capacity, weak coordination, and health systems that do not always have the information or resources needed to respond effectively. GI4C works to support people and communities, strengthen health programmes, and build the systems that enable health services to reach those who need them. By connecting community realities, health information, digital technologies and evidence with decision-making, we help stakeholders identify gaps, understand changing health needs, improve programme delivery, strengthen surveillance and coordination, and target resources more effectively. The goal is not simply to collect health data; it is to help build more responsive health systems that can understand their populations, act on evidence, strengthen local capacity and deliver better, more equitable and sustainable health outcomes.

From health intelligence to stronger health systems

We connect health intelligence to decisions, resources and action, helping health authorities, communities, organizations and development partners understand what is happening, where needs are greatest, who is affected and where action is required. This enables stakeholders to strengthen surveillance, improve health information systems, identify service and data gaps, target interventions, coordinate responses and build local capacity to use information effectively.

Rather than treating digital tools as an end in themselves, GI4C focuses on how technology, data and intelligence can strengthen the people, processes and systems that deliver and manage health services. The result is more responsive health systems, stronger health intelligence, better-informed decisions and greater capacity to protect and promote the health of communities.
